Guckaisee is a small natural lake in the Hessische Rhön nature park, located at 690 metres elevation at the foot of Wasserkuppe. The lake covers 0.5 hectares with a mean water depth of approximately 2 metres and a maximum depth of 2.85 metres. The water is nutrient-rich, which allows algae to develop rapidly. Swimming is possible from all shores of the lake, and the water remains relatively cold even in midsummer.
