Großer Pfordter See is a bathing lake in the Fulda floodplain in the Schlitz district of Pfordt, covering 11.4 hectares. It was created through gravel extraction and has a mean depth of 4.6 metres with a maximum depth of 12.2 metres. The lake is used for bathing and fishing, with a designated swimming area approximately 100 metres long on the south shore. The water has elevated nutrient loading and periodically shows increased algae development and reduced visibility.
