Hainbergsee

Germany Lake 1 - Excellent

Hainbergsee Meuselwitz is a natural lake located at the edge of the town of Meuselwitz in Thuringia, surrounded by trees. A restaurant and sales kiosk are situated near the beach. The lake has no surface inflow; water levels are maintained through groundwater input. A sports field and several bungalows are located directly on the water opposite the bathing area, and a walking path encircles the lake.

No surface inflow; water renewal occurs through groundwater input and throughflow. Water level fluctuations during bathing season are less than 0.5 metres. Ecological status class is ÖKZ 1 (very good), oligotrophic.
