Heidbergsee Süd is a bathing lake formed from a former gravel pit, situated within the Heidbergpark (approximately 28 hectares). The park is a popular recreational area for Braunschweig and the surrounding region. The lake features large grassy areas, sandy beach sections, and a barbecue area. Artificial sandy beaches on both sides of the lake mark the water access points.
