The Lido beach area of Pisticci municipality extends from the Cavone river to the Basento river. The coastal zone is organized around three main settlement poles: San Basilio, San Teodoro, and Macchia di Pisticci, all located inland from the pine forest and adjacent to state-owned land. The beach area is subject to various regulations governing activities and behavior.

Coastal bathing water body bordered by the Cavone and Basento rivers.

Location

Pisticci municipality, Matera province, Basilicata region. The sampling point is located north of the Idrovora Casello 48 pump station at coordinates 40.320086, -16.802851. The bathing area extends from coordinates 40.319493, -16.801931 to 40.320971, -16.803341.

Season

1 May to 30 September. Monitoring period: 1 April to 30 September.

Water Quality

Water quality classification period: 2017-2020. Monthly sampling frequency conducted from 1 April to 30 September. No swimming bans were in effect during the 2020 bathing season.

Risks

Non-bathing zone present: discharge from the Consorzio di Bonifica Canal at the Idrovora Casello pump station, with a width of 40 meters centered on the discharge outlet.
