Kąpielisko Balaton

Kąpielisko Balaton is a bathing beach located on an artificial water reservoir in the natural part of the Lesznicy catchment area in Wodzisław Śląski. The beach has a shoreline of 100 metres and is situated on the Balaton water body. The facility is operated by the Municipal Centre for Sport and Recreation in Wodzisław Śląski and is monitored for water quality throughout the bathing season.

Water

Balaton is an artificial water reservoir with a shoreline of 100 metres. The water body is located in the natural part of the Lesznicy catchment area.

Location

Wodzisław Śląski, Bracka street, Wodzisławski district, Śląskie Voivodeship, Poland. The facility is managed by Miejski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji "Centrum" at ul. Bogumińska 8, 44-300 Wodzisław Śląski.

Designated swimming zone in water, beach area for recreation and sports, pontoon and pier, water equipment mooring area, designated grill and campfire zones, rubbish bins, toilet, WOPR flag mast, lifeguard, children's bathing area, children's beach area, pet prohibition, information board.

13/06/2025 to 05/09/2025. Operating hours: Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2025 is excellent. Monitoring data from 2025 shows E. coli levels ranging from 7 to 63 jtk(NPL)/100 ml and enterococci levels ranging from 1 to 24 jtk(NPL)/100 ml. Maximum permissible concentrations are 1000 jtk(NPL)/100 ml for E. coli and 400 jtk(NPL)/100 ml for enterococci. One closure was recorded on 11/08/2025 due to cyanobacterial bloom. Most recent assessment on 19/08/2025 classified water as suitable for bathing.
