Water Quality

Classified as Type 1 profile under the bathing water vulnerability assessment, meaning pollution risk is not established. Water quality is monitored according to European Directive 2006/7/CE (which replaced Directive 76/160/CEE). Monitoring includes three microbiological parameters: total coliforms, Escherichia coli, and intestinal enterococci. Three physicochemical parameters are also assessed: mineral oils, surface-active substances, and phenols. Monitoring occurs between June 15 and September 15 each year, with a pre-season sample and minimum bimonthly samples during the bathing season.
