Kiesgrube Leubingen is a former gravel pit that has been converted into a bathing water body. The shoreline is partially vegetated with reeds, meadows, shrubs, and individual trees. Water

Former gravel pit lake with an area of 0.036 km², maximum depth of 6 metres, and elevation of 132 metres above sea level. Water level fluctuations are less than 0.5 metres during the bathing season. The lake receives groundwater inflow from southeast to northwest in the direction of the Unstrut. Water renewal time is 3–4 years. Ecological status class is ÖKZ 1 (very good) with oligotrophic characteristics.

Located in Leubingen, municipality of Sömmerda, Thuringia (coordinates: 11.1450°E, 51.1995°N). An unpaved parking area is available outside the fenced area. The nearest contact is the Health Department (Gesundheitsamt Sömmerda) at Wielandstraße 4, 99610 Sömmerda.
