Naturbad Bebraer Teiche is a natural bathing area located at the southwestern edge of Sondershausen. The pond complex consists of two interconnected water bodies: a smaller unused pond of approximately 2 hectares and a bathing pond of approximately 5.5 hectares that is also used for boating. The ponds were likely established in the 11th century by monks from the former Augustinian monastery Jechaburg as fish farming waters. The bathing area itself covers approximately 1 hectare and is fed by natural springs within the pond and a controllable overflow from the adjacent Bebra river.
