La Ballastière is an artificial lake created in the late 19th century through gravel extraction for railway construction. The water body covers approximately 5.4 hectares and measures 770 metres in length with an average width of 70 metres. Swimming has been authorized at La Ballastière since 2014 on an unsupervised basis, though the municipality plans to introduce lifeguard supervision in the coming years. Water quality monitoring by the regional health authority since 2013 demonstrates excellent water quality.
