Plage Des Sources Du Lac

France Lake 1 - Excellent

Sources du Lac is a bathing beach located on Lac du Der-Chantecoq. The bathing zone is defined and monitored according to European Bathing Water Directive 2006/7/CE. The beach profile was initially established in January 2011 and revised in December 2017. This is a Type 1 profile incorporating assessment of vulnerability, identification of pollution sources, and management measures to prevent health risks and improve water quality.

Lac du Der-Chantecoq (Der Lake). The lake has a dike system surrounding it and includes water supply and drainage infrastructure managed by Seine Grands Lacs.

Location

Lac du Der-Chantecoq. The nearest reference station is Saint-Dizier.

Summer months from May to September.

Type 1 bathing profile. Monitoring covers bacteriological indicators and identifies sources including urban context, agricultural activities, industrial activities, camping sites, port activities, bird pollution, and wildlife pollution. Identified pollution sources include cyanobacteria, macrophytes, macroalgae, leptospirosis risks, swimmer dermatitis, and macro-waste.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms, macrophyte and macroalgae proliferation, leptospirosis, swimmer dermatitis (cercarial dermatitis), macro-waste, hydrocarbon pollution, and bacteriological contamination from various sources including bird and wildlife pollution.
