Cale de La Brèche is a bathing beach located in the commune of Tracy-sur-Mer. The beach is situated in a coastal area with tidal characteristics and is subject to monitoring for bacteriological water quality. Water

Coastal marine water body with tidal influence. The area experiences both rising and falling tidal currents with varying directions and strengths.

Location

Tracy-sur-Mer commune. Parking is available near the beach at the cale (boat launch area). The bathing zone is delimited and marked with signage.

Facilities

Information panel (panneau d'affichage) is located at the cale. The beach is authorized for recreational shellfish harvesting (moules and fouisseur coquillages) in designated areas.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored by ARS (Regional Health Authority) for E. coli and enterococci bacteria. Monitoring data from 2021 shows evolution of the 95th percentile for both indicators. Discharges from Tracy stream (ruisseau de Tracy) and the Arro watercourse are identified sources affecting water quality. A storm water discharge system also exists in the study area.

Risks

Algae accumulation events impact water quality results. Bacterial contamination linked to stream and watercourse discharges has been identified. Rainfall significantly affects contamination episodes.
