Swimming is possible along the entire Laholmsbukten beach. The northern section features loose sandy beach with high dunes, while the southern landscape is flatter with more compacted sand. Both Mellbystrand and Skummeslövsstrand originated as summer resorts and are now largely inhabited year-round. On fine summer days the beach attracts significant visitor numbers, but the extensive stretch means crowding is not inevitable.
