Béchet Beach is located in the municipality of Saint-Briac-sur-Mer in Ille-et-Vilaine, in northwestern Brittany, France. The beach is situated in the central part of the commune along its approximately ten-kilometre coastal facade facing the Atlantic Ocean and Frémur Bay. The area is characterized by a temperate oceanic climate with mild temperatures averaging 12°C annually and moderate precipitation of approximately 771 mm per year.

Water

Coastal water body on the Atlantic Ocean and Frémur Bay. The area is influenced by temperate oceanic conditions. The seabed is characterized by micaschists with diabase intrusions oriented north-south, particularly at the coast.

Location

Saint-Briac-sur-Mer, Ille-et-Vilaine, northwestern Brittany. The beach is located in the central part of the commune. The municipality is bounded to the east by Saint-Lunaire, to the west by Lancieux, and to the south by Ploubalay and Pleurtuit.

Season

Monitoring conducted according to Directive 2006/7/CE using data from the four most recent bathing seasons.

Water Quality

The bathing water has been classified as Type 1 profile, indicating that the risk of bathing water pollution is not established. Water quality assessment is conducted according to Directive 2006/7/CE based on bacterial concentrations (enterococci and Escherichia coli) measured in CFU/100mL.
