Mazet Plage is a bathing area located on the Chassezac river in the Ardèche department of France, situated downstream of the Chassezac Gorges in a tourist zone. The area is characterized by diverse geomorphology including limestone plateaus, volcanic zones, alluvial plains, and granite mountains. The Chassezac experiences both severe low-water periods and strong flooding events that can be catastrophic.
