Plage du Pont Bleu is a bathing beach located on the west coast of the Manche department in the Granville-Jullouville bay area. This vulnerability profile document provides a comprehensive assessment of potential pollution sources and management measures for the beach in accordance with European Directive 2006/7/CE on bathing water quality management.

Water Quality

Water quality monitoring conducted according to Directive 2006/7/CE standards, measuring Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci. Historical sanitary control data available for classification under both Directive 76/160/CEE and Directive 2006/7/CEE. Target water quality classification of 'sufficient' required by 2015.

Risks

Identified pollution sources include domestic wastewater from collective and non-collective sanitation systems, stormwater runoff, agricultural activities in the Thar and Saigue watersheds, industrial activities, port and mooring zones, seasonal infrastructure, and circus activities. Coastal discharge points are monitored.
