The Face à la Piscine beach is located on the west coast of the department within the Granville-Jullouville bay, part of the northern Mont-Saint-Michel bay. The bathing zone profile was established to identify and prioritize pollution sources affecting water quality and bather health, with the goal of achieving sufficient water quality by 2015 under European Directive 2006/7/CE.

Saint-Pair-sur-Mer municipality, west coast of the department within Granville-Jullouville bay.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored for Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci. Classification history exists under both Directive 76/160/CEE and Directive 2006/7/CEE. The bathing area has experienced closures. Coastal discharges from the Saigue and Thar watersheds and the Scissy pipe collection basin are monitored sources.

Risks

Pollution sources identified include domestic wastewater from collective and non-collective sanitation systems, stormwater runoff, agricultural activities in the Saigue and Thar watersheds, port and mooring zones, and infrastructure for seasonal residents.
