Water Quality

Water quality monitoring conducted by ARS (Regional Health Authority) from 2005 to 2010. Bacteriological quality data available for both beaches. Shellfish bed quality monitored through REMI network. Phytoplankton and phycotoxin surveillance conducted through REPHY network. Potential for macroalgae proliferation assessed.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified including collective wastewater treatment system discharge points, non-collective sanitation systems, stormwater networks discharging directly to sea, agricultural runoff, and accidental pollution events from campervans. Risk assessment conducted for rainfall events (20mm/1h) and dry weather conditions.
