Plage des Dunes is a bathing beach located in the commune of Penvenan within the Lannion-Trégor Communauté area. The beach is subject to regular monitoring and classification according to European bathing water directives. The beach's water quality is influenced by a 5 km² watershed that is primarily agricultural in character, with seasonal population increases during summer months.

Facilities

Lifeguard surveillance coordinated with SDIS 22 (firefighting and rescue service). Municipal regulations govern police and safety at the beach.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored by ARS (Regional Health Authority) with bacteriological analyses conducted between 2014 and 2017. Classification follows both the 1976 and 2006 European directives, with percentile 95 measurements for E. coli and enterococci recorded. Potential pollution sources identified include wastewater collection and treatment systems, stormwater drainage, and agricultural activities.

Risks

Potential pollution from wastewater treatment station outfalls from Penvenan and Trévou Tréguignec. Non-conforming individual wastewater systems (ANC) and inadequate pipe connections identified on the watershed. Shellfish harvesting restrictions in place in the Anse de Pellinec area. Agricultural runoff risk from the predominantly agricultural watershed.
