Rochanic and Du Voleur are bathing beaches located in the commune of Penvenan within Lannion-Trégor Communauté. This vulnerability profile study from August 2017 evaluates the risk of water pollution at these beaches and establishes measures to reduce contamination and limit user exposure. The beaches are monitored under European Directive 2006/7/CE on bathing water quality management.

Water Quality

Water quality monitoring includes E. coli and enterococci concentrations (2013-2016 data available). Classifications follow European Directive 2006/7/CE standards with categories of good, sufficient, or insufficient quality. Shellfish quality is monitored in the nearest recreational foot-fishing zone at Anse de Pellinec.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include wastewater collection and treatment systems, rainwater collection systems, agricultural activity, and other undescribed sources. A prefectoral order from 22 September 2016 exists regarding the area.
