Lido di Dante is a coastal bathing area extending from the mouth of Fiumi Uniti to 600 m south of that location. The beach is 70 m wide and transitions from brackish wetlands on the coast to simple arable land inland. The area is classified as a stable alluvial coastal marine water body in the Emilia-Romagna region near Ravenna.

Water quality is classified as Good (reference years 2021-2024). Escherichia Coli: 90th percentile 119 CFU/100ml, 95th percentile 193 CFU/100ml. Intestinal Enterococci: 90th percentile 79 CFU/100ml, 95th percentile 121 CFU/100ml. No pollution sources from direct discharge points exist within the bathing area itself.

Risks

During heavy rainfall, the mouth of Fiumi Uniti located to the north can carry pollutants to the sea near the bathing area. The proximity of Fiumi Uniti may cause eutrophication. From 2015-2018, phytoplankton (Raphidophyceae Fibrocapsa japonica) showed no blooms. Macroalgae blooms (Ulva genus) occurred in July-August 2018 in the north-central coastal section, causing modifications to beach use during biomass accumulation.
