Water temperature: 14.6–26.7°C (mean 19.0°C). pH: 7.87–8.42 (mean 8.26). Conductivity: 320–410 µS/cm (mean 360). Visibility/transparency: 1.1–4.5 metres (mean 1.8 metres). Water exchange time: more than 30 days. Eutrophication level: eutroph I (natural nutrient content 3). Substrate: sandy. Altitude: lowland (less than 200 metres above sea level).

Located in Paderborn district, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The bathing area is 100 metres long. Operated by Lippe-See Freizeitanlagen GmbH & Co. KG, Sennelagerstraße 66, 33106 Paderborn.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent for the years 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Water quality assessment found no relevant negative influence from identified pollution sources including municipal treatment plants, industrial treatment plants, domestic sewage systems, and rainwater discharges. Critical chlorophyll-a threshold of 0.04 mg/l was not reached in any sample tested.

Risks

Cyanobacterial blooms: None observed in the last four years; future risk assessed as low. Macroalgae: Not present. Phytoplankton: Future mass development risk assessed as low, with low tendency to eutrophication due to low phosphorus and nitrogen compounds (phosphate mean: 0.1 mg/l; nitrate mean: 12 mg/l, 2004–2007). Bird presence: Occasional, with no water quality impacts indicated by monitoring.
