A coastal bathing area located 100 metres south of the San Filippo stream mouth in Letojanni, Sicily. The beach features low-lying sandy and pebbly shores with a flat gradient and a width of 10 to 25 metres. The seabed consists of alluvial deposits overlaid with sandy and gravelly sediments. The water is classified as Excellent quality.

Coastal water body. The bathing area extends along a stretch of sea between Cape Scaletta and Torre Archirafi. The beach is sandy and pebbly with a low gradient. The seabed consists of alluvial deposits overlaid with sandy and gravelly sediments.

Letojanni, province of Messina, Sicily. The bathing area extends between Cape Scaletta and Torre Archirafi. Coordinates: 37.889815°N, 15.320672°E. The area covers approximately 0.250 square kilometres.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The Letojanni municipality is part of a wastewater treatment consortium with Taormina, Giardini-Naxos, and Castelmola. The treatment plant is located in the San Filippo contrada district. No cyanobacterial proliferation events have been reported. No cases of potentially harmful algal blooms have been identified.

Risks

A swimming prohibition extends from 100 metres south to 100 metres north of the San Filippo stream mouth due to the discharge of the Consortial Treatment Plant serving Taormina, Giardini-Naxos, and Castelmola.
