Germany Lake 1 - Excellent

Rheinauer See is located in a recreational area on the border between Mannheim-Rheinau and Brühl. The lake is surrounded by residential areas. A large portion of the lake is private property. Only the northeastern part is made available by the City of Mannheim for leisure activities. The lake is divided into different usage zones. In addition to the public bathing area, there is a continuously monitored diving area marked with buoys. Diving is only permitted after prior registration and with an issued dive tag. Diving is restricted in terms of location and time by legal ordinance dated 13.09.1999. The legal ordinance can be accessed online at www.mannheim.de (Stadtrecht).

Location

Public Transport: Regional train R2 to MA-Rheinau or city railway line 1 to MA-Rheinau station, then transfer to bus lines 47/48 to Chiemseestr. stop, from there approximately 3 minutes on foot.

By Car: From north and south via motorway A6 towards Mannheim; exit Schwetzingen/Mannheim Rheinau Hafen 2; B36 towards Mannheim, after approximately 1 km turn right, following signs for Hafen 2, at the next traffic light intersection (sign: Hafengebiet) turn left, after approximately 150 m turn right into Lüderitzstr. (sign Rheinau Süd), at the roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue on Lüderitzstr., turn left into Frobeniusstr., after approximately 200 m turn right into the car park.

From the city centre on B36 towards Schwetzingen, exit Rheinau Hafen 2, after approximately 200 m turn left into Lüderitzstr. (sign Rheinau Süd), at the roundabout take the 2nd exit, continue on Lüderitzstr., turn left into Frobeniusstr., after approximately 200 m turn right into the car park.
