Marina di Vietri Secondo Tratto is a sandy bathing area located along a high, rocky limestone coast in Vietri sul Mare, Campania. The beach is backed by terraced slopes with steep gradients. The Bonea stream mouth is situated to the south of this section. The water has been classified as excellent for bathing purposes based on monitoring data from 2020–2023.

Sandy beach fronting a high, rocky limestone coast with terraced slopes. Two monitoring points are established: one at the main bathing area and a second 150 metres from the Bonea stream mouth.

Location

Vietri sul Mare, Province of Salerno, Campania region. The bathing area is in the Marina fraction of the municipality.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). Monitoring conducted at two points: IT015065157003_PS and IT015065157003_PS2 (150 metres from Bonea stream mouth).

Risks

Possible pollution sources identified: Bonea stream mouth to the south; pre-existing submarine pipe on the eastern side (potential emergency discharge); pumping station ST1 with emergency overflow at Marina locality; pumping station at Campo sportivo location with emergency overflow. Urban sewage is conveyed to a collection tank at Marina fraction and discharged to the intercommunal treatment plant in Salerno.
