Molchowsee is a natural lake in northern Brandenburg, approximately 1.5 km north of Altruppin in the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park. The lake is approximately 1.6 km long with a maximum depth of 6 m and forms a lake-like extension of the Rhin river, which flows through it before entering Ruppiner See. Water transparency at the bathing area typically ranges from 0.6 to 1.3 m during the bathing season. The lake's water level is regulated by the Altruppin sluice gate. The eastern shore is characterized by reed beds, while the western and southern eastern shores are surrounded by bungalow estates.
