Location

Approximately 1.5 km northeast of Nordby. Access is easiest via Klitgård Camping. Alternative parking available approximately 500 metres south of the camping site.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent. A wastewater treatment outlet is located approximately 900 metres south of the camping site, discharging via a 20-metre pipe into the sea. During heavy rainfall when an overflow structure activates and with northbound current, slightly elevated values of indicator bacteria may be measured at the monitoring station near the camping site.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms can occur during particular current conditions and after several days of calm, warm weather. Macroalgae blooms may occur; bathing is not recommended near large quantities of seaweed at the shore as toxins can form in decomposing algae and algae can protect pathogenic bacteria from UV degradation.
