Nordseestrand Baltrum is a coastal bathing area on the island of Baltrum in the North Sea. Baltrum is the smallest East Frisian island by area, measuring five kilometers in length and approximately one and a half kilometers in width, with a total area of six and a half square kilometers. The island became a seaside resort in 1876 and was recognized as a North Sea health resort in 1966. The island has approximately 500 residents who primarily depend on tourism, serving around 35,000 visitors annually. The Wadden Sea, where this bathing area is located, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in June 2009.
