Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023, according to Legislative Decree 116/2008). Identified pollution sources include urban sewerage discharges from Naples Province received via Lake Patria, and discharge from the Vena Canal carrying effluent from an intensive fish farming facility equipped with a treatment plant. No wastewater discharges from municipalities in Caserta Province.

The bathing water is weakly influenced by Lake Patria, which receives urban sewerage discharges from Naples Province and effluent from intensive fish farming operations via the Vena Canal.
