Location

Castel Volturno, Caserta province, Campania region. The bathing area is located at the mouth of Lake Patria with settlements on the northern side (Latitude 40.9148°N; Longitude 14.0238°E).

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (years 2020–2023). The bathing water is influenced by Lake Patria, which receives urban sewage discharges from Naples province and contributions from the Vena Canal, which carries discharge from an intensive fish farming facility with a treatment plant.

Risks

The bathing area receives drainage from land reclamation canals and urban sewage networks via Lake Patria. Aquaculture discharge enters through the Vena Canal.
