The area is characterised by sandy shoreline, cliffs, piers, and intense urbanisation along the beach, with pine forest (pineta) towards the interior. Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). The bathing water is weakly influenced by the Regi Lagni Canal, which receives treated wastewater from three regional treatment plants located in Marcianise, Orta di Atella, and Villa Literno, as well as untreated urban wastewater from several municipalities.

Risks

The bathing water receives wastewater discharge from the Regi Lagni Canal, which is the outlet of three regional treatment plants and also receives untreated wastewater via multiple tributaries.
