Pineta sud is a sandy beach in Sessa Aurunca, Caserta province, in the Campania region. The beach features retrodune vegetation and a pine forest along the shoreline. The bathing water is influenced by the Garigliano River mouth to the north. The area was classified as having good water quality for the monitoring years 2020–2023.

Sessa Aurunca, Caserta province, Campania region. The Garigliano River mouth is located to the north of the bathing area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good (2020–2023). The bathing water is influenced by the Garigliano River, which receives direct and indirect sewage discharges from urban sewer networks on the left hydrographic bank. Some of these networks are served by treatment plants while others lack treatment. Additional sewage discharges originate from the coastal area north of the Garigliano River mouth.

The bathing area is affected by sewage discharges from the Garigliano River mouth, including treated and untreated urban wastewater from sewer networks.
