Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent based on enterococci and Escherichia coli parameters. No cyanobacteria detected. Water transparency excellent, averaging 1.2 to 4.0 metres. No bathing bans issued by the health authority in recent seasons. Monitoring data from 2004–2024.

Risks

Medium risk of microbial contamination from swimmers and high risk of phosphorus input from shoreline recreational facilities and swimmers. High risk of cyanobacteria development and vegetational haze from nutrient inputs from recreational buildings on northern and northwestern shores. Low risk from nutrient inputs in groundwater from agricultural lands and wind erosion from the surrounding area.
