Water Quality

Microbiological water quality is monitored according to Directive 2006/7/CE. Surveillance data from summer seasons between 2008 and 2010 were analysed. Identified pollution sources include urban context, agricultural activities, industrial activities, wastewater treatment, non-collective sanitation, stormwater, harbour context, camper vans, bird pollution, and contributions from water masses.

Risks

Potential risks include proliferation of cyanobacteria and phytoplankton, macroalgae, jellyfish, macro-waste pollution, hydrocarbon pollution, and concerns related to the former Villeroy landfill.
