Plage Du Lido

Water

Lake Bourget, France's largest natural lake, with a volume of 3.6 km³, length of 18 km, average width of 3 km, and maximum depth of 145 m. The lake occupies a deep glacial valley oriented north-south, bordered by Jurassic mountain chains.

Location

Commune of Tresserve, Savoie department (73100), France, on the eastern shore of Lake Bourget. The commune has a population of 3,294 inhabitants and covers an area of 2.77 km². Altitude ranges from 228 m to 331 m above sea level.

Season

Official monitoring conducted in July and August.

Water Quality

Classified as Type 1 profile under European Directive 2006/7/CE, indicating water quality is sufficient, good, or excellent based on analysis results from 2007 to 2010. Monitoring parameters include enterococci and Escherichia coli. Water quality assessment is based on bacteriological control results from the four most recent bathing seasons.

Risks

Potential sources of contamination assessed in the watershed including wastewater discharge systems and stormwater networks in the study zone comprising Tresserve, Aix-les-Bains, Drumettaz-Clarafond, and Viviers-du-Lac communes. Assessment of macroalgae proliferation potential and phytoplankton proliferation potential was conducted.
