Swimming is monitored during July and August. The area has a population of approximately 27,782 residents, increasing to about 37,000 during the bathing season. Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Type 1 profile under EU Directive 2006/7/CE, indicating no established risk of pollution. Monitoring results from 2007 to 2010 analysed two bacteriological parameters: intestinal enterococci and Escherichia coli. Water quality is sufficient, good, or excellent based on the last four bathing seasons of sanitary control results.

Risks

Potential macroalgae proliferation and phytoplankton proliferation potential have been assessed. Potential sources of contamination from classified installations and wastewater networks exist within the watershed.
