Port Maguide and Maguide are two bathing beaches located on the west side of Lake Cazaux-Sanguinet in Biscarrosse, Landes, southwestern France. Port Maguide is 194 metres long and 50 metres wide with a designated bathing zone of 80 by 90 square metres. Maguide is smaller at 110 metres long and 20 metres wide with a bathing zone of 40 by 70 square metres. Both beaches have sandy substrates with modified shorelines and average water depths of 35 centimetres and maximum depths of 75 centimetres. The bathing season operates from early June to mid-September.

Lake Cazaux-Sanguinet. Surface area 58 square kilometres. Watershed 200 square kilometres. Maximum depth 24 metres. Average depth 8.6 metres. Volume 470 to 500 million cubic metres. Annual renewal rate 0.23 (approximately every 4 years). Water circulates north to south in the bathing zones.

Location

Biscarrosse, Landes department, Aquitaine region, northwestern France. Port Maguide is accessed by road with parking available. Maguide is accessed by pedestrian paths. Both sites are situated in the commune of Biscarrosse, approximately 9 kilometres from the town centre at Biscarrosse Plage.

Facilities

Port Maguide: lifeguard post, toilets, showers, rescue post, waste collection, accessible facilities for people with reduced mobility, information point, restaurant, recreational activities, water sports activities, parking. Maguide: toilets, drinking water point, waste collection, restaurant, play area. Signage zones present at both beaches. Neither beach allows animals.
