Plansee is a lake connected to Heiterwanger See by a canal. It contains two basins with depths of 78 and 72 metres, covering a total area of 2.87 square kilometres. The lake has two additional inflows and one outflow in the northwest. It is used as a reservoir by Elektrizitätswerk Reutte and experiences artificial water level fluctuations in winter.
