Cabria is a natural Mediterranean coastal bathing beach in Almuñecar, Granada, measuring 425 metres in length with an average width of 30 metres. The beach features a rocky and gravel composition with deep waters and is moderately exposed to waves dominated by easterly and east-southeasterly winds. Swimming conditions are typically calm, and the beach is semi-urbanised with medium occupancy.

Water

Mediterranean coastal water body with deep water depths (batimetría: aguas profundas). Substrate consists of mud and sand. Micromareal range of 0–2 metres. Currents are dominantly directed towards the northeast. Annual precipitation ranges from 400–600 mm with a torrent intensity index of 25–50%.

Location

Almuñecar, Granada, Andalucía, Spain. Located along the Granada coast (Litoral de Granada). Access is available on foot or by car. The beach is adjacent to Marina del Este.

Water quality classified as Excellent for seasons 2013–2016. Short-term microbiological contamination risk is low (24-hour duration). Risk assessment methodology follows the deterministic standard UNE 150008. Water body reference 610013 located within the Maro-Salobreña Cliffs protected area.

Low risk of jellyfish blooms. Low risk of phytoplankton proliferation. Low risk of macroalgae blooms. Potential diffuse pollution from land use patterns, built surfaces, altered areas, and natural areas in the zone of influence. Water influenced by Barranco de las Golondrinas and Barranco watercourses.
