Caló de Sant Antoni is a natural bathing beach located on Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. The beach measures 100 metres in length and 30 metres in width with a gentle slope and fine sand. It is a free-access recreational beach used primarily by visitors on a daily basis with low attendance. A promenade runs alongside the beach.

Water

The bathing water is a natural free-access area measuring 100 metres in length and 30 metres in width. The water body has a gentle slope. No currents, whirlpools, or rip tides are present. The seabed is fine sand.

Location

The beach is situated in the municipality of Llucmajor, Mallorca, Balearic Islands. Pedestrian access is available and good. Vehicle access is available but poor. Parking is available but considered regular in quality. Disabled access is available but poor.

Water Quality

Water quality has been classified as excellent for the years 2019 through 2022. Short-duration pollution episodes (less than 72 hours) occurred once in 2020 and once in 2022. No exceptional pollution episodes lasting longer than 72 hours were recorded. According to the hydrological plan, the water status was deficient in 2007–09 and 2018–19, and moderate in 2022–23. Identified pollution sources include a wastewater treatment plant discharge 0.7 kilometres away, septic tanks, vessel discharges, and stormwater runoff. Low accumulation of floating residues was recorded in 2019 and 2020, with very low accumulation in 2021 and 2022.

Risks

Jellyfish occurrences are occasional. No recorded history of phytoplankton or cyanobacteria proliferation.
