S'Arenal is a 250-meter-long bathing beach in Llucmajor, Mallorca, with a gentle slope and fine sand. The beach is naturally formed and experiences high daily recreational use, primarily by non-local visitors. Water quality has been classified as good annually from 2019 to 2022, with the most recent assessment (2022–2023) rating it as moderate.

Water

Natural saltwater beach environment. The bathing zone measures 250 meters in length and 60 meters in width with a gentle slope. Fine sand substrate. No currents, eddies, or undertow are present.

Location

Located in Llucmajor municipality on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. Pedestrian access is good, disabled access is available, and vehicle access is good. Parking is available but limited in quality.

Water Quality

Water quality classification was good for 2019–2022 and moderate for 2022–2023. Short-duration pollution episodes (<72 hours) occurred once in 2021 and once in 2022. Accumulation of floating residues is very low. Identified pollution sources include the EDAR wastewater treatment plant outlet 0.7 kilometers away, septic tanks, boat discharges, and rainwater runoff.

Risks

Occasional jellyfish occurrence. No history of phytoplankton or cyanobacteria proliferation.
