Cala del Moral is a natural Mediterranean coastal beach located in El Rincón de la Victoria, Málaga, Andalucía. The beach stretches for 1,311 metres with an average width of 40 metres and is composed of gravel and dark sand. It experiences moderate wave conditions and is moderately exposed to waves, with currents flowing predominantly toward the northeast. The beach is highly occupied and features an urban setting with a promenade and boardwalks.

Water

Mediterranean coastal water body. Shallow waters with mud and sand substrate. Micromareal range of 0–2 metres. Currents dominant toward the northeast. Wave regime dominated by easterly and east-southeasterly winds. Annual precipitation 600–800 mm with torrential index of 25–50%.

Location

El Rincón de la Victoria, Málaga, Andalucía. Access is available on foot or by car. Disabled access is provided.

Facilities

Red Cross post, lifeguard surveillance, danger signalling, public toilets, showers, waste bins, cleaning service, disabled access, boat rental, and club nautical facilities (Club Naútico El Candado).

Water Quality

Classified as excellent water quality for all monitored seasons: 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Short-duration contamination risk is low, with microbiological pollution lasting approximately 24 hours. Diffuse pollution sources include land use, constructed surfaces, and altered areas in the influence zone. Primary watercourses are Arroyo del Totalán and Arroyo.

Risks

Medium jellyfish presence. Low phytoplankton and macroalgae levels.
