Bellreguard Beach is a marine bathing zone located in the municipality of Bellreguard in Valencia province, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration with a rigid promenade and is composed of artificial sand. It spans 797.2 metres along the high tide line with an average width of 28.4 metres. The beach is situated on a low-lying accumulation coast with currents running from south to north and experiences microtidal conditions.

Location

Bellreguard municipality, Valencia province, Valencian Community, Spain. The beach has access points including disabled access facilities and parking available. To the north lies Guardamar de la Safor beach and to the south lies Miramar beach.

Lifeguard and rescue services. Free public toilets. Foot wash facilities. Accessible point service. Parking. Beach bar/chiringuito. Buoys for marking. Additional activities include scooter rental, sun lounger rental, umbrella rental, and kiosk. Bather density during swimming season: low.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified according to Royal Decree 1341/2007. The water mass status is good under the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/CE). Water quality classification by the Conselleria de Agricultura, Medio Ambiente, Cambio Climático y Desarrollo Rural is based on weekly inspections during the bathing season evaluating water analysis, water appearance, and sand cleanliness. Monitoring results for 2020–2023 show excellent water quality classification.

Risks

Potential short-duration contamination factors identified with low frequency and minor impact: rainfall, urban sewerage, coastal discharges. Rivers/canals, industrial installations, port facilities, and diffuse pollution are present with low frequency and minor impact. No direct coastal discharges affecting water quality. No cyanobacteria proliferation has been detected on the Valencia coast.
