Cala del Moraig is a beach located in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell municipality in the province of Alicante, Comunidad Valenciana, Spain. The beach has an open cove configuration without defensive structures or a waterfront promenade. The shoreline measures 227 meters with an average width of 25.3 meters and comprises boulders and sand. The beach is bounded to the north by Cap de la Nao and to the south by Cala de Llebeig.

The water body belongs to the Júcar hydrographic demarcation with a coastal water mass category. The coastal water mass status is classified as very good. Water quality monitoring results are classified as excellent for the 2020–2023 bathing seasons. The coastal water mass achieved excellent classification. Monitoring is conducted weekly during the bathing season with visual inspection parameters assessed and published in the regional environment authority website.

Risks

No direct discharges to the coastline that could affect water quality have been identified. Potential short-duration contamination risk factors from rainfall, urban sanitation, and coastal discharges are present at low frequency with mild impact. Potential contamination risk factors from rivers/canals, industrial installations, port installations, and diffuse pollution are present at low frequency with mild impact. The bathing zone does not require an environmental control point as no direct discharges or urban sanitation connections that could affect water quality exist.
