Playa del Arenal is a sandy beach located in Jávea, Alicante, in the Valencian Community. The beach has a closed cove configuration with perpendicular breakwaters and a seafront promenade. It is bordered to the north by Muntanyar I beach and to the south by Muntanyar II beach. The beach is 481.87 meters long with an average width of 76.02 meters and has an artificial sand composition.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The coastal water body status is Very Good according to Water Framework Directive assessment. Monitoring point established in 1988 at the center of the beach. Weekly visual inspections of water parameters conducted during bathing season. Potential contamination risks are rated low with slight impact: rainfall, urban sanitation, and coastal discharge.

Potential short-duration contamination from rainfall (low frequency, slight impact), urban sanitation systems (low frequency, slight impact), and coastal discharges (low frequency, slight impact). Two submarine outfalls serve the area: one from 1984 and another from 1986.
