Las Salinas is a Mediterranean coastal bathing water located in Roquetas de Mar, Almería. The beach extends for 1,275 metres with an average width of 50 metres and is composed of white sand. It experiences moderate wave conditions with a semi-urban character and medium occupancy levels. The water body is deep with muddy-sandy substrate and has a micromareal tidal range. The beach is moderately exposed to waves, which are predominantly from the east and northeast.

Mediterranean coastal water body. Water mass: Guardias Viejas - Rambla de Morales. Bathymetry: deep waters. Substrate: mud and sand. Micromareal tidal range of 0–2 metres. Dominant currents flow towards the east, east-southeast, and east-northeast. Wave regime is dominated by winds from the east and northeast (levante wind). Moderate wave exposure.

Las Salinas beach is located in Roquetas de Mar, Almería, in Andalucía, Spain. The beach is easily accessible on foot and by car. The nearest sports port is at Roquetas de Mar, 2 kilometres away.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for all monitoring seasons (2013–2016): Excellent. Low-risk microbiological contamination of short duration (24 hours). Determined using deterministic methodology according to UNE 150008 standard. Monitored by the Directorate General of Planning and Management of Water Resources, the Public Health Authority, and the local tourism management unit.

Risks

Low risk of jellyfish proliferation. Low risk of phytoplankton proliferation. Low risk of macroalgae proliferation. Diffuse pollution sources from land uses, forest, and natural surfaces in the area of influence.
