Playa del Moro is a maritime bathing zone located in Alcalá de Xivert, Castellón province, in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is an open cove-type beach with an artificial sand composition and a wooden promenade. The beach is bounded to the north by Playa de la Romana and to the south by Playa de Manyetes. It has a low-accumulation coastal configuration without defense structures.

Maritime bathing zone. Shoreline length 109.9 m, average width 49.8 m. Water body is coastal type (CW Costera). Current direction is south to north. Microtidal range. Located in the Júcar River Basin District.

Location

Located in Alcalá de Xivert municipality, Castellón province, Valencian Community, Spain. Parking is available. The beach has accessible routes for people with disabilities.

Lifeguard and rescue services. Disabled access. Free public toilets and toilets in bars. Showers and foot wash stations. Waste bins and selective waste collection. Buoys for water delimitation. Bar/snack bar. Lounger, umbrella, and scooter rental. High bather density during bathing season.

June 1 to September 15.

Water Quality

Water body status is very good. Classified under Real Decreto 1341/2007 which transposes Directive 2006/7/CE. Weekly inspections are conducted during the bathing season evaluating water analysis, water appearance, and sand cleanliness on an Excellent, Good, Sufficient, or Insufficient scale. No direct discharges to the coastline affect water quality.

Risks

Potential contamination factors include rainfall (low frequency, mild impact), urban sewerage (low frequency, mild impact), and coastal discharges (low frequency, mild impact). Rivers/canals, industrial installations, port facilities, and diffuse pollution each have low frequency and mild impact. No cyanobacterial blooms have been detected in the Valencian Community coastal waters.
