El Alquian is a natural Mediterranean coastal bathing water located in Almería, Spain. The beach extends for 2,080 metres with a medium width of 30 metres and dark sand composition. Swimming conditions feature moderate wave action and windy weather. The water is classified as deep with muddy-sandy substrate and experiences a micromareal tidal range of 0–2 metres.

Location

Almería municipality in Andalucía, Spain, on the Mediterranean coast. Access is by car. The beach is isolated with no boardwalk or pathways. The nearest sports port is in Almería, approximately 10 kilometres away.

Diffuse pollution sources from land use in the influence zone, forest surfaces, and natural areas. Rivers contributing to the water body: Rambla de la Quebrada, Rambla de la Sepultura, and Rambla de Tabernas. The area is designated as a protected zone (Site of Community Importance).
