Retamar is a 620-metre urban beach in Almería, Andalucía, situated on the Mediterranean coast. The beach has a mean width of 40 metres and is composed of dark sand and gravel. Bathing conditions feature moderate waves and windy exposure. The beach is highly occupied with easy pedestrian access and vehicle access available. The water body is deep with mud and sand substrates, subject to a microtidal range of 0–2 metres and dominant easterly currents.

Currents dominant towards the east, east-southeast, and east-northeast. Wave regime dominated by easterly and east-northeast winds. Annual precipitation 200–400 mm with torrential index of 50–75%.
