Playa Des Niu Blau is a natural beach located on the island of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. The beach measures 140 metres in length and 25 metres in width with a gentle slope and fine sand substrate. It is used for recreational purposes primarily by local residents on a daily basis with medium visitor numbers. The beach has no significant currents, whirlpools, or rip tides.

Water

Natural free-flowing bathing water. The beach is 140 metres long and 25 metres wide with a gentle slope. It is part of the water mass EIMC05M3 (Cala Llenya to Punta Blanca).

Location

The beach is located on Ibiza in the municipality of Santa Eulalia del Río in the Balearic Islands. There is good pedestrian access and good vehicle access with parking available. Disabled access is available but rated as regular.

Water Quality

Water quality classification 2022–23 is Good. The 2022 annual classification is Excellent. Historical classifications: 2007–09 Good, 2018–19 Acceptable. Two short-duration contamination episodes (<72 hours) were recorded in 2022. Floating waste accumulation is rated as very low. No point source discharges or other pollution sources have been reported.

Risks

Occasional jellyfish occurrences. No history of phytoplankton blooms or cyanobacterial blooms.
